Hi, I’m L’Oreal and I’m here to help!

I understand the excitement and challenges of the publishing world because I've walked this path myself.

My debut book, "Stop Waiting for Perfect: Step Out of Your Comfort Zone and Into Your Power," was published last year by BenBella Books. The response was overwhelming—I appeared on national platforms like CBS Mornings and NPR, and local stations including Chicago WTTW and Baltimore WJZ.

To top it off, my book became a number-one new release in Amazon's self-help category on the day it launched. I also embarked on a successful book tour, connecting with readers at independent bookstores and libraries across the country.

My Journey & Expertise

Before becoming a published author, I dedicated nearly 20 years to journalism. I've been both a writer and editor, holding staff roles at renowned publications like The Baltimore Sun, JET and EBONY, and Fortune magazine. My work has been featured in various prestigious outlets, including New York Magazine, Essence, SELF, and Well + Good. This extensive experience in traditional publishing has equipped me with a deep understanding of what it takes to craft a compelling narrative and pitch it successfully.

A Holistic Approach

In addition to my writing credentials, I'm a certified yoga and meditation instructor. I completed Sanctuary Coach Training, designed to support writers who face trauma from intersectional oppressions and mainstream writing structures. This unique blend of skills allows me to offer a holistic approach to writing, ensuring you not only develop a strong proposal but also nurture your well-being throughout the process.

Why You Should Trust Me

I've been where you are now—brimming with ideas but unsure how to package them into a proposal that catches the eye of literary agents. My journey from idea to published author is proof that it's possible, and I'm here to share the strategies and insights I've gained along the way. Together, we'll transform your idea into a polished, professional book proposal ready for submission.

Alyssa Morin, lifestyle editor & beauty journalist

“I wouldn’t have finished my book proposal without L’Oreal’s guidance, transparency, and spirited pep talks. Through her writing workshops and book proposal coaching, she offered in-depth insight into the process that you won’t find in a Google search.

In addition, the tips, tools, and resources she provided not only made me feel comfortable tackling something as daunting as a book proposal, but confident enough to send it out to agents once it was completed. Of course, L'Oreal’s bubbly personality and passion for helping others creates such an inviting space that you leave her workshops feeling educated and empowered. I can’t recommend booking a session with her enough!”
